About Me

I have written about 18 books for children and teenagers, and some non-fiction books, short stories, magazine articles and film and book reviews.

I live in Cambridge with my husband. We have two grown-up daughters and two granddaughters – and a part-time dog called Dibber who comes for holidays.

When I’m not working I love to mooch about at the seaside, look around historic buildings and bridges, and watch the world going by over a cup of coffee in a street-side cafe (preferably in Italy).
